Fall Festival @FHS

At this event, we worked with Fairfax High School in order to help promote the FIRST program to students attending the Fairfax City Fall Festival. From this event we were able to reach over 200 students and parents and we were also able to demo our Freight Frenzy robot and give students the opportunity to play with it. We were able to raise over $45 for their school team and we were also able to get 15 students interested.

Curriculum Night @FHS

We worked with Fairfax High School in order to help promote the FIRST program to students from Katherine Johnson Middle School that will be attending Fairfax High School next year. From this event, we were able to reach out to over 150 students and got over 45 interested students. We were also able to get a mentor who will be helping us manage the team next year.

Pyramid Night @FHS

We promoted the FIRST Lego League programs to Elementary School students who will be branching into Fairfax High School in upcoming years. At this event, we were able to set up a full field from this year's FTC season, PowerPlay. Using this field, we were able to let students drive the Fairfax Roarbotics robot and score cones. We were also able to display Xtreme Voltage's PowerPlay robot and show how each attachment works. From this event, we reached over 125 students and gained interest from over 15 students in local Elementary Schools.

STEAM Night @PES

We were happy to be invited by Ms. Whitis and Ms. McNeil (The club sponsors for the Providence Lego League Club) to attend the Providence ES annual STEAM Night. We utilized this opportunity to work with the Fairfax HS Roarbotics team in order to display our robot and let students drive it around the playing field to show what the robot does. We were also able to talk to parents and explain the FIRST Program as well as what we do as an organization. From this event, we were able to reach over 200 students and parents in Providence ES. We hope to start more FLL teams at Providence from the large amount of interest we received from students.

Spring Festival @FHS

We were happy to be able to have a table and display our robot to students during the Fairfax High School Pyramid Night and Spring Festival. Through this event, we were able to meet with one of our mentor's Ms. Dorsey, and let students drive our robot to gain interest in the many FIRST programs. We were able to reach over 50 students and parents while at this event.

STEAM MakerSpace @KJMS
|
We were able to partner with FHS National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) in hosting an event at Katherine Johnson Middle School bringing STEAM activities to their MakerSpace for students each Friday of May afterschool. On the first day we displayed our robot and allowed the students to drive it while explaining the importance of engineering. We got the chance to reach over 25 students.

Summer Blast off Night @DRES
|
We were invited to work with students at Daniel's Run Elementary School to display our robot and help students grow an interest in STEM and robotics. By doing this, we were able to gain interest from over 200 students. We were able to explain that Daniel's Run Elementary School already has 2 FIRST Lego League Explore teams that the students could join next year.
