'Unite & Excite' Tailgate @FHS
|
We were able to attend Fairfax High School's Unite & Excite Tailgate and run a table. At this event, we promoted FIRST For Youth to FHS for the upcoming year, and we were able to gain interest from over 50 students in volunteering and supporting our mission. In addition, we handed out flyers to give out to students and parents to spread our organization further and allow students to volunteer easily through a QR code.

Homecoming Tailgate @FHS

At Fairfax High School's Homecoming tailgate, FIRST For Youth held a booth to gain interest in volunteers, parents of children, and raise money to support FIRST programs. Our team handed out cotton candy to students who signed up to volunteer, and gained interest in over 100 students and parents. In addition, we handed out our business cards to Fairfax County supervisors and the superintendent to help spread our programs to more schools in Fairfax County.

DECA Days @FHS

We collaborated with Fairfax High School's DECA Chapter by incorporating FIRST For Youth into a DECA Day activity to promote our organization. Students got the opportunity to compete against one another for who could build the best Lego creation. After students had learnt about our volunteer opportunities. From this event, we received interest from many students who were interested in volunteering with FFY!

STEAM Night @Providence ES

We were able to attend Providence Elementary School's STEAM night where we ran a stand and educated young children and parents about FIRST For Youths goals and accomplishments. We were able to promote our organization, with many parents, teachers, organizations, and FCPS administrators. We connected with many individuals, in order to create an even larger and more welcoming community!

STEM Symposium @Oakton HS
|
Oakton had invited First For Youth for a STEM Symposium event to showcase our organization and encourage families in the county to sign up for our programs. We created a fun activity that allowed kids to participate and win candy, adding an interactive element that encouraged people to join and follow our journey. This event had increased our audience to a larger crowd, expanding our community.
